Size Guidance - Bracelets

Start by measuring your wrist

We recommend taking a soft tape measure (the type that you would use for sewing) and wrap it around your wrist. If you don't have a tape measure, then just cut a long strip of paper or a piece of string / cord, wrap it around your wrist, mark it, and compare this measurement with a flat ruler.

Make sure to measure the wrist you intend to wear the bracelet on, as some people have different measurements for their left and right wrist.

Then add additional length to determine the right fit for your bracelet

This accommodates the materials that the bracelet is made out of. Chunkier bracelet styles will need a greater allowance, and so do bracelets that have a wider strap. Each page in the shop has guidance on how to get the right fit.

Also keep in mind how you would like your bracelet to fit. If you prefer a looser style, err on the generous side.

Our general recommendation is to add approx 1/2 an inch to your wrist measurement. But please keep in mind any advice on specific product pages. We always recommend that you round up, instead of down, if you have to make a choice.

Why does my bracelet look like a different size than I ordered?

Sizing can be a bit tricky as a bracelet will measure a different length when it is lying flat versus when it is "measured in the round" on your wrist. We measure all of our designs "in the round" using a special sizing cone. This measures the inside circumference of the bracelet, and is the best way to get a size that compares well to your actual wrist size.

For example, if your wrist measures 7 inches, and you decide to order a 7.5 inch bracelet ... we will make your bracelet with a 7.5 inch inner circumference.

But it will always measure differently when it is laid flat. If it is a thin / delicate style, it will be close to that measurement (something like 7.6 or 7.7). But if it is a chunky style, when laid flat it could measure 8 to 8.5 inches.

So even though it looks longer when it is laid flat, it's the correct size that you ordered.
