Grid Coordinates, Longitude and Latitude - Engraved on your Bracelet or Necklace

What format are the grid coordinates in?
We will engrave them in whatever format you send them across in. Common formats are:
     - Degrees, minutes, and seconds (DMS): 41°24'12"N 2°10'26"E
     - Decimal degrees (DD): 41.40338, 2.17403

How to find out the longitude and latitude of your special place
The easiest way to do it is to look up the address on Google Maps. When you've found it on the map, make sure the pushpin is pointing to it. If it isn't, just click on the right part of the map and the pushpin should go there. Then right click on the pushpin, and select "What's here?" In the little box that pops up, you'll see the longitude and latitude in decimal degrees (DD)format. If this is your preferred format, you're done! Just pop these details into your engraving instructions box.

How to convert to Decimal degrees (DD) to Degrees, minutes and seconds (DMS)
If you would like to convert to the DMS format, use a latitude longitude converter such as this one. You just need to enter the DD numbers you got from the steps above, and the converter does the work! You might just need to play around with the rounding of the last digit, to get a short result that is as close as possible to your desired location.

If you want to double check the conversion to make sure it works ... (always good to double check!) ... then open a new browsing window and go to Google. Enter the longitude and latitude in the degrees, minutes and seconds format. It can be a bit tricky to get the spacing and degree symbol right, so it's easiest to just copy / paste these and change the numbers ( 41°24'12"N 2°10'26"E ). Press Enter to search, and it should give you a result from Google Maps so you can make a quick visual check that you did the conversion right!

How much space do I have for engraving? What if my grid coordinates don't fit?
Engraving limits are more of an art than a science. A "0" is much wider than a "1", and we won't know ahead of time whether your grid coordinates include (long one) or (short one). We will always do our best to accommodate your engraving wishes, but may occasionally need to discuss the details with you.
